What is Notepad

01. Windows Notepad is a simple text editor for Windows; it creates and edits plain text documents. First released in 1983 to commercialize the computer mouse in MS-DOS, Notepad has been part of every version of Windows ever since.

02. Notepad is a simple graphical text editing programe.

File Menu

New

This option is used for create a new blanck text area in notepad. The shortcut key is Ctrl+N.

New Window

This option is used for create a new blanck text Window in notepad. The shortcut key is Ctrl+Shift+N.

Open

This option is used for open any save file for read and editing. The shortcut key is Ctrl+O.

Save

This option is used for save changes in any saved file. The shortcut key is Ctrl+S.
(If we use this opption in new file then he calld save as dilogbox for giving any name for save new file).

Save as

This option is used for save any old or new file with any new name. The shortcut key is Ctrl+Shift+S.

Page Setup

Page setup is a set of specific parameters involving the display and layout of a printed page.

Print

This option is used for Print Hardcopy using of printig device. The shortcut key is Ctrl+P

Exit

This option is used for close Notepad. The shortcut key is Alt+F4


Edit Menu

Undo

This option is used for come one stup back.The shortcut key is Ctrl+Z.

Cut

This option is used for Moved selected area in clipboard . The shortcut key is Ctrl+X.

Copy

This option is used for send selected area copy in Clipboard . The Shortcut key is Ctrl+C.

Paste

This option is used for Call back last area send in clipboard in our current curser podishon . The shortcut key is Ctrl+V.

Delete

This option is used for delete selected area or if we dont select any area it's use for delete cursor riteside area.The shortcut key is Del

Find

This option is used for Find any text and word in our file. The shortcut key is Ctrl+F
When we use this option we open a popup dilogbox we see two option is Find Next for finding If we Direction is select Down option find next option is used for finding in Right side of cursor and If we Direction is select UP option find next option is used for finding in Left side of cursor.

Find Next

This option is used for find next accourding your setting in your find dilogbox. The shortcut key is F3

Replace

This option is used for Replace text and word. The shortcut key is Ctrl+H

Go To

This option is used for Go to any line in open docoment.The shortcut key is Ctrl+G

Select all

This option is used for select all data in open file. The shortcut key is Ctrl+A

Time/Date

This option is used for insert computer present Date & Time. The Shortcut key is F5



Format

Word wrap

Word wrap is a word processing feature that forces all text to be confined within defined margins. When a line of text is filled, the word processor automatically moves the text to the next line, so the user doesn't have to press the return key after every line

Font

The font option is used for set text font face , style and size but in notepad all docoment font is same

View

Status Bar

The Status Bar appears at the bottom of the Notepad and gives information like the number of Lines and the number of columns; the text is occupying. Now if you click on View, and you will see that the Status Bar option is greyed out. Click on Format and then uncheck the Word Wrap option.

Help

There are 2 ways of focusing on the Menu Bar - Help Option, these are:- 1. Press the ALT key, focus will be placed on the first item on the Menu Bar "File". press the Right Cursor key 4 times. Thunder will then announce "Help menu item with sub menu". Press the Down Cursor key and the option menu will be opened. 2. Hold down the ALT key and press the letter "H" once, focus will now be placed on the top item in the Help option. There can be many options in a menu list, these can vary according to the version of the program currently running. An example of such a list is shown below and a very brief description of its function. Help Topics (F1) - Gives you Help whilst in NotePad; About NotePad - Gives details of Copyright and the Registered Version of NotePad. Have some fun trying out these options.
